Fuelled by dragon magic, the dark immortal warriors were never meant to feel human desire, much less fall in love. But when Guy, a member of an ancient order of shape-shifting warriors, meets Elena Griffin – a mere mortal whose beauty and blind ambition shakes him to his core – all bets are off…
Having left America to explore the Scottish Highlands, Elena suddenly finds herself lost in a dark cave – alone, injured, and utterly hopeless…until Guy appears from out of nowhere. Is she dreaming her own rescue when she falls into his arms? A man – and a passion – this strong is too good to be true. It’s only a matter a time before she learns the truth about the flames in his heart. And the dragon in his soul…
First sentence
Elena Griffin adjusted her helmet while praying the LED light atop it didn’t go out.
My thoughts
When Elena’s boss dies during their caving excursion, she realises that she’s underground with a possible broken ankle and all alone. But in the dark comes 3 strangers that come to her rescue. This is where Elena and Guy’s story begins. The Dragon King’s are curious as to why Elena was cave diving on their land and what secrets about them has, she uncovered with her time in the cave. Little did Elena know that she was to become part of an even bigger secret of the Dragon Kings.
This was another fast-paced book by Grant on the Dragon Kings and their other half. The re-cap of the history of the Dragon Kings which was interesting to hear. I think that I would really enjoy a more in-depth look into their history and the differences between the clans. I found this novella much more engaging than the one before. Found that Grant was talented in writing a convincing love story in such a short span of time. I didn’t feel that the relationship was rushed or not flushed out enough. I would highly recommend reading these novellas that are prequals to the main series. Happy reading!
