    Valentino Haute Couture Autumn/Winter ’16/’17

Loved the structure and silhouette’s for this collection. A lot of this collection reminded me of the shakespearean era of clothing with their high necks and rich fabrics. Leathers, furs and velvets littered throughout the collection weaving their magic into the designs. Exuberance of luxuries ran through this series just like everything of Valentino’s. They’re beautiful, meticulous, intricate and flattering. Did you have a favourite look? images | Vogue XO Lisa

    Fendi Haute Couture Autumn/Winter ’16/’17

Having the runway show on a glass platform with water from the waterfall cascading down was just beautiful to watch. It really tied into the whole collected with the way that it had flowed. Feathers and furs were huge statement pieces throughout this collection. From white feathers made to look like flowers, fur coats and capes, to using fur as accent pieces to sleeves. Floral patterns running up and down the arms, the centre of the gowns and using the butterfly effect creating mirror images of the other half making a whole. Beautifully crafted prints of trees and the woods making hauntingly beautiful gowns. Did you have any favourite? Let…

    Viktor & Rolf Haute Couture Autumn/Winter ’16/’17

Just so much excess fabric was used there and it was glorious! This collection was a cross between being a little circus-y and pinning everything under the sun on the outfits. The outcome was just stunning! Love the combination of the overly use of everything but the colours were mixed just right. It was a little like organised chaos. With the top hats and the flare of the designs it was like walking into a travelling circus with side of adventure. What were your thoughts? images | Vogue XO Lisa

Guo Pei Haute Couture Autumn/Winter ’16/’17

The first time I heard of Guo Pei was when Rihanna came dressed in that beautiful yellow gown for the Met Gala a few years back. I loved her designs and ever since I haven’t gotten enough of her ideas and beautiful designs. This is the first post that I have done on her runway looks. Guo Pei is a Chinese fashion designer that have been known to make commission pieces for many Chinese actresses. A lot of her designs in this season had the use of golds and silvers in the patterns. Beautifully crafted gowns that looked very much like disney princess gowns and with the tiara’s to boot.…

    Givenchy Haute Couture Autumn/Winter ’16/’17

I’ve always really loved Givenchy’s style and looks. This season wasn’t any different, the models looked like real life statues. Long silhouettes from the gowns to the pantsuits. There was more focus on the way that fabrics could be manipulated to create different textures rather than using pops of colour. In this season they’ve kept the colours muted to black, off-white and moss green. These colours remind me of the rocks on a shore where the ocean meets the land. I also felt a sense of romanticism throughout these designs with their soft edges and ruffles that tied together the outfits. Using mirrors created a harder edge to the designs…

How to Design a Duke by Eleanor Meyers

Title: How to Design a Duke Author: Eleanor Meyers Series: Wardington Park Book: #9 Genre: Romance, Historical, Regency, Historical Romance Goodreads rating: 4.17 My rating: 4/5 He’s charming. In a matter of one year, she went from being a little seamstress…to a widow…to the heiress of the Season.
