“ARC was given for an honest review”

Where Death leads, I follow. Nothing will stop me from my duty – not even the darkness that claims me. It’s the music that leads me from the dark, returning me to my brethren and a new foe that has risen. Learning who hunts Thea could be the key to unravelling what we need to know to defeat our enemy. The Half-Fae’s music stirs a passion within me that I’ve never known. For her, I will break my vow of silence. For her…I will risk everything. (Goodreads)

First sentence

“Thea! Enough! Get in the vehicle. Now.”

My thoughts

This is the sixth book in Donna Grant’s Reaper series. I must say that I’m very new to the series and so haven’t read the other books in this series. I found that you can read this book as a standalone book as Grant does do a really fast recap and it was light on information, but it was enough to keep you going for this book. As much as I enjoyed the story it felt that it was a little rushed and the characters didn’t get flushed out enough, so their relationship was a little on the fast track.

Even though I did end up liking the characters, I would have liked to see their back stories more flushed out as both really had interesting stories to tell. I think it the book was a little longer there would have been time to build up the chemistry that was already there. I really enjoyed reading this story, there was a good balance of action and romance that kept me reading and wanting to find out more. I think after reading this book I would like to get my hands on the first book and start the journey from the beginning. Happy reading!
