Her beauty is a weapon.
Denae Lacroix is a beautiful MI5 agent on a deadly mission. Sent to the Scottish Highlands to spy on the mysterious Dreagan Industries, she discovers too late that she’s been set up – as human bait. She is an irresistible lure for a man who has not seem or touched a woman for centuries. He is a man with a destiny – and a desire – that could destroy them both…
His passion is a curse…
It’s been twelve hundred years since Kellan has walked among humans – and there’s no denying the erotically charged attraction he feels for Denae. But as a Dragon King, he is sworn to protect his secrets. Yet the closer he gets to this smart, ravishing woman, the more her life is in danger. All it takes is one reckless kiss to unleash a flood of desire, the fury of dragons…and the fiercest enemy of all.
The night was dark and tranquil as Denae slid against an oak and waited for her partner, Matt, to catch up.
I’ve read so many of the Dark Kings series out of order that I’ve finally decided that I was going to the beginning to read and learn about the other Dragon Kings that have already been paired away.
Kellan is the King of the Bronze dragons and has chosen to sleep through the centuries rather than deal with any more betrayal of humans. Denae is a MI5 agent who has just gotten betrayed by her partner and agency. There are a few things that I liked about this series but also a few things that I would hope that would be cleared in the next books.
I loved Denae, she was a strong female lead that was kickass! I loved that she could take care of herself and wasn’t reliant of the Dragon Kings. The other character that I liked was Rhi, she was feisty and funny. I cannot wait to learn about the Dragon King that she’s keeping a secret. I wasn’t a huge fan of Kellan, yes, he was hot, but his self-pity really got on my nerves and felt that the chemistry between him and Denae was lacking. But the action scenes were amazing, and I just couldn’t get enough of it. There were so many plots that weren’t finished in this first book so I can’t wait to read about them in the later books. If you’re interested in Dragon-shifters this would be up your alley. Happy reading!
