Blair Archibald had his debut at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia a huge hit and displayed his immense talent. His Resort collection named Season Six – The Last Knitting Mill was essentially a progression from his winning capsule of six looks made for the local iteration of the Woolmark Prize.
This New Zealand born designer has really wowed the crowd with his collection. The clean-cut simple background where his models walked down the runway really enhanced his designs and really put each of the pieces their own spotlight. I found that a lot of his jackets were quite soft around the shoulders, relaxed feeling and slightly oversized. I loved this look and it was a perfect collection for the season. I felt that the colours were quite muted even the pops of blue were on the slightly darker hue but I felt that it was paired well together. Blets that was used on a couple of the designs gave the looks a little more structure but it wasn’t made to feel too formal.
