“ARC given for an honest review”

There’s only so much pain and loss one person can handle before they shut off emotionally.

Detective Jase Stevenson experienced more pain than any one person should have to bear at a young age. After walking in on his parent’s brutal murder, he vowed to get revenge on the culprit. What he didn’t plan on was her.

Tiffany Warner had her own set of problems growing up. All she wanted out of life was to be loved and to love someone in return. She never expected to fall for him, a man who seemed incapable of giving her the one thing she wanted… a tomorrow.

How long can one person wait before walking away? Are some people just broken beyond repair? Can Tiff convince Jase to let her in?

First Sentences

“Hurry up man! We’re gonna get busted,” Jax, my older brother, whisper-shouts as he motions for me to follow him.

My Thoughts

Detective Jase Stevenson has experienced more pain than any one person should. At a young age, his parent’s were brutally murdered, he vowed to seek revenge on the culprit. What he didn’t plan was to meet the love of his life in Tiffany Warner. Tiffany feels that not matter how hard she tries Jase keeps her at an arm’s length.

At the beginning of this book, both Tiff and Jase just gave me anxiety! You can clearly tell of their attraction and their chemistry came off the pages quite clearly. But Jase keeps holding back and won’t divulge anything to Tiff. I was pulled into the story immediately, fortunately, this book is a completely standalone book. But I would recommend reading the first two books first just so you can get the best out of the series. This story was very touching, it really showed how much Jase needed to overcome his own demons with the help of Tiff and his friends Dev and Sam. I loved that Jase eventually could open his heart to Tiff and give her tomorrow. It was quite a sad read at the beginning but I promise you that it gets much happier. I would highly recommend this series. Don’t forget to leave me a comment if you have read this or tell me what your thoughts were.
